this is the second pokemon that i swear was already in the game. The first was nickit and now mimikyu, i swear im in some mandelo alternate world or something. I have memories of catching these in pokemon go.
i had this same theory a few days ago. if the go pass during the shockingly good time event rewards a mystery item at the highest rank, mimikyu is a 100% guarantee (the mystery item will be the mimikyu hoodie that was shown in the datamine). pikachu is the spotlight hour pokemon featured on april 1st. along with the moveset update, it all just makes too much sense.
The backstory with Mimikyu is that if you see it’s true form, you’ll die, therefore, nobody wants to see it. This makes it feel unloved, so it dresses up as a Pikachu so that it can gain the affection of others.

Pikachu during the april 1st event will have a chance to be mimikyu its a pikachu spotlight hour so lots of chances of getting mimikyu plus some in photo encounter with buddy and mimikyu for highest pokemon encounter in gopass with a bunch on the paid pass
