After leaving the city the route winds along the North Coast of the region's main landmass.
First up a few terrestrial encounters! Puffet is a cute Ice/Flying bird with Slush Rush and Swift Swim. As one of the early bird encounters plenty of players will pick this up. It evolves to Puffile and with access to Slush Rush and Swift Swim it can be a versatile team player. Blankeetle is another early Bug. Its stats are unimpressive but it quickly evolves into the Bug/Ice Snuggem, which boasts usable speed and special stats along with the ever useful Overcoat and Ice Scales.
Moving to the beach and ocean, Reticonch is a Water/Rock lil guy that evolves quickly into Shafe – a Water/Steel crab with great defenses and two awesome abilities in Shell Armor and Sturdy. Guptitood is the regions homage to Magikarp, but instead of becoming a mighty dragon, it becomes an even bigger goober. Goolounder is pure Water but with Unaware and Oblivious and a monstrous HP stats its the ultimate safety blanket for a novice trainer. Last but not least is Botink, a pink Water dolphin. It's a bit slower to evolve than other two stage evolutions encountered so far, but Blufoein is well worth the wait. A Water/Fairy with a big Attack stat and a useable speed stat backed up by Dazzling or Swift Swim will be a valued member of any team.
