  1. 1. Holy crap im early.
    2. Yes, im sure we all know that WE are the products.
    3. I never played Pokémon Go. I always thought it was fishy. Glad to see I was right.

  2. To the people going like "all my hard work wasted" or whatever

If you didnt scan a pokestop (or if you didnt use AR at all like a normal human 💀) or spoofed, you unironically helped kinda

  3. I always thought as a kid it was weird that the ar camera kept turning itself on every time I opened the app. Makes sense now that I look back

  4. This is "exposed" every few months, and always ignores that most players don't even use the AR features, esp scanning.

  5. I've had all of the camera features disabled on Pokemon Go from day one but I wouldn't be surprised if it was still running in the background somehow. Absolutely wild though and yet somehow unsurprising

  6. I turn off AR feature and when doing the buddy picture and hand goes over the camera. Also I ignore the 'photograph a poke stop' challenge that forever sits in the challenge list.

  7. Yeah, a delivery bot. At least, that's what they're willing to admit they use the data for, but let's be real, corporate entities aren't known for honesty, especially ones who work with AI.

  8. The scanning PokeStops sounded sus to me when it was first implemented. Glad I just deleted those Field Researches.

  9. That was really brilliant. But it would have been nice if they'd just told people that. Most people would probably have been fine. But not knowing it sounds pretty manipulative.

  10. did people really not realize this is what they were going to do??? its horrifying to see rampant lack of reasoning, theres no good reason they have to ask for you to scan an area with your camera while prescise gps is being used
