So I have a trade binder and in my trades binder is a very obvious fake card. I use the fake card as a joke to divide my binder between things that are open for trade and things that I’ve already traded for and haven’t sorted yet. Recently, I had a man pull the card out of the binder and attempt to destroy it. I asked him not to do that because it’s not his and I’m using it in my binder. He went on a little tirade about how fake cards are destroying the hobby and some kid might try to trade for that and not know that they were getting a fake card. Now I want to reiterate this card is obviously fake and I’m not going to let someone go through my binder without me there. That’s just silly. This card has also been in my trades binder for over a decade. I’ve been in this hobby collecting and playing for years now and it’s only recently that this card has been a problem. I do not know if I should take the card out of the binder or leave it in there, but I have noticed just an uptick in general aggressive behavior when it comes to trading with individuals. Has anyone else noticed this and should I leave the card in the binder? I want to facilitate a conversation regarding this. Point of note because it is relevant I am a 30+ year-old woman.
