This is my current team for Pokemon Violet. I’m just getting into the game after not playing for ages and I’ve never really looked too much into any sort of strategy despite playing the games relatively frequently growing up.
Is this a decent team all things considered in terms of balance and power. I’ve only just got the star badge so I’m not too far in terms of gameplay

Capsakid gets fire as second type upon evolution so you are double fire types.
Maybe search for a stronger Electric or Water type, looks fine overall
You’ve got a lot of monotype Pokemon. Swap Pikachu andor Buizel with something dual typed to Diversify your STABs.
It depends on the context. It’s more than good enough for the story, but not for competitive play.
But it looks like a fun team! For the story, you can play whatever you like the most.
It’s not bad, I’d maybe get a flying type, and also Capsakid will overlap with Fuecoco once it evolves but it’s fine for now. If you’re going with monotypes you might want something else for coverage, having both grass and electric might be unnecessary if they’re not dual types, I’d maybe get a flying, dark, ice, ghost or something rather than the grass type. If you want both electric and grass for the vibes I’d get more dual types
Pretty solid except for the grass type, id recommend a different pick unless it’s one of your favorites
you dont need any external programs to handle team building or anything like that, just truly use whatever catches your eye. you don’t even have to worry about type overlap or be commited to just a singular team. modern pokemon games give you plenty of ways to catch up including exp all, a generous amount of rare candys, a ludicrous amount of EXP candys and a healthy portion of stat boosters like Carbos, Zinc, feathers etc.
everyone will have different opinions of what you should add to your team and honestly just go with your heart until your run into a wall- I wouldn’t use any of these mons personally.
I *could* say ditch your whole team, grab Wattrel its an amazing electric flying special attacker and tears the whole game in half with air slash and thunderbolt, hunt a Huge Power Marill and have it evolve use Play Rough and Waterfall to dish out big damage, use Shroomish becaues when it evolves its a hard hitting physical grass and fighting power with spore to sleep the enemy, WHERE IS YOUR DRAGON– but like just play how you want until you struggle then switch things up with other stuff that has caught your eye.
like my team, at this point [i presume around 2nd gym], was Croagunk, Mudbray, a shiny Goomy, Marill, Tinkatuff and Quaxly, just stuff that caught my eye.
