I just created a Max Tank Calculator that can rank how good every single Pokémon is at sponging a certain move.
You can choose the type of the move you're tanking and it will apply weakness and resistance in the calculation.
You can also choose how many Max Guard Shields you use, as Max Guard is basically a 60 flat HP increase so defense weighted Pokémon will get an advantage over HP weighted Pokémon the more shields that are in play, so the rankings will change and you can customize your own scenario.
Eternatus adventure effect is also available, this will mean Max Guard gives 20 more HP, benefiting defense weighted Pokémon even more.
This calculator counts with these features:
– Zamazenta entry shield is taken into consideration in the calculation.
– Eternatus AE is programmed properly to not work for Zacian and Zamazenta, accurate to what happens in-game.
– If Max Spirit would provide more than 60 healing, Max Guard is functioning as a Max Spirit instead, so for example Blissey's Max Guard is actually giving you 68 HP and not 60, simulating that Blissey even as a tank would prefer using Max Spirit over Max Guard as it would get more value out of it, which leads to more accurate measuring of this Pokémon in Max Guard scenarios.
But the most important part that differentiates this calculator from others is the fact that you can both look at just Dynamax Pokémon currently available, as well as every single Pokémon in existence, so you can look at potential future best Pokémon, very useful if you want to check how future proof a Max Tank is or Pokémon you should start gathering XL Candy for potential future releases.
Instructions on how to use the calculator are included. I plan on keeping this spreadsheet up to date, as well as making future updates to it, potentially adding extra features and have it doing more Max Battles related stuff. I hope you all enjoy!
