Found my old collection a few years back and ended up selling it at auction, all separated into different lots through Goldin. My friend Dave works there, so he made the whole process really easy. The only card I kept was the Japanese Fossil Mew, which is my favorite card of all time.
I reinvested part of the money back into the hobby, and these are all my singles, minus some sealed UPCs and ETBs. My daughter is 3.5 and loves looking at them with me. I’m keeping all the sealed stuff for her to have when she’s 18, or at least that’s what I tell my wife.
I’m a classic collector. I mostly collect Japanese cards. If it’s English, I probably pulled it myself, and if it doesn’t have a swirl, I don’t want it.
I’ve got post history if you want to check out some of the cards I sold at auction. Looking back, I kind of wish I hadn’t sold them, but it was the peak at the time and then everything came crashing down. My childhood shadowless Charizard pull graded an 8.5. I’m not even sure what it’s worth today. I think it sold for around 2.8k.
RIP to my dad, who got me into the hobby and even organized a Pokémon day at my church growing up. He was always all in and supported everything I cared about.
Anyway, just wanted to share this with people who appreciate cards. Hope you saw something in there you liked.
