During my time as a university student at a Latin American university in South America between 2012 and 2016, I got together with several people who were involved with Pokémon, whether in different branches like TCG, VCG, or Smash Bros., and we formed a small club. Sometimes we'd meet at the university in an empty classroom, and other times just at a random house to hang out like a bunch of antisocial types with similar tastes. I finally got my 3DS and Wii U (which we played Smash and Pokken on). For reasons involving our progress in our university studies, including internships and jobs, some dropping out for other life choices, or the arrival of the Nintendo Switch which allowed for better online connectivity, we stopped meeting up and the group dissolved. However, I have to admit that those were good times in the years leading up to the pandemic, since the club dissolved in 2018. It seemed like everything Nintendo-related and everything we did was going to last forever, which makes me think today about how things have changed. Even so, I don't regret anything.
