I saw this idea a while back and finally decided to bring my own version to life, featuring Lugia! Being able to showcase our special background buddies like this would add so much more value and personality to our trainer profiles. It just makes everything feel more unique and worth showing off

it’s bizarre that this isn’t a thing, same with showing dmax/gmax pokemon on your profile or elsewhere. people have tons of cool things and barely any way to show them off.

AND IN GYMS LIKE TF? whats the point of having bg and location bg pokies if i can’t show em off unless im physically showing someone my phone. f that. Also the first person to place a pokie should be allowed to post a legendary / mythical in a gym.
Honestly I’ve never been a fan of many of the backgrounds, some do catch my eye though.
But this would make me go after them more often.

It’s bound to happen, they already make it where in your pokemon storage you can see what has a background or location card from the symbol on the bottom right side of the corner. I’d imagine this is the next step for them

I would 100% start caring about backgrounds immediately if they did something like this.
They really introduced backgrounds and decided to make it visible to yourself and literally nobody else when the only difference is visual.

It would actually make me want to try and get things with backgrounds. As of now I could care less. They don’t help with performance, nobody else can see them so there’s no flex, and I don’t really care to sit and look at it on the screen.

A good chunk of the value of collecting special things is being able to show off to others that you have the special thing. Honestly baffles me a little that they haven’t done something like this with the special backgrounds, it’s such an obvious idea to make them worth actually caring about even a little.
