Summary: Easily the hardest of the Regis to build so far due to its hexagonal cylinder body (which I had to make into an octagonal cylinder just to make it work as well as I did). I tried so many different ways to construct the core skeleton, and I finally managed to find a way that was relatively sturdy to keep all the tiles together. I wanted only legal building techniques so anyone can build this. I also made sure that all pieces were real pieces, and not custom pieces or prints (I was so happy to see a dotted tile for its face!)
Features: Even though it's a really small model (only 16 studs tall!), it has some features. It can rotate its arms and wrists around, and it can also rotate its body from its hips, so there are a few poses it can do.
Versions: I have two versions of Regice that I can't decide between: the original icy blue color of the games, or the more "realistic" semi-transparent glacial body look. I think being able to see inside its body is really cool (like a transparent Gameboy that let's you see inside it). Also, all the pieces inside its body gives Regice that compacted ice deep-blue look that is especially present in glaciers, so it really works for me!
Side-by-Side: You can see Regice next to Registeel (in its shiny metal glory), and I'm happy to say their dimensions are relatively the same! It's about the size of a minifigure, even though it's a stud taller, because I wanted it to be around the height of Brendan in order to let it be possible to follow the Trainer around (like in HGSS). You may need some transparent studs to make it stand, because it will tip over with its pointy feet.
MOC Set: The second reason I wanted a small-scale Regice is because I wanted to put it in the Island Cave Chamber where you find it waiting in the middle; In the game, the overworld sprite of Regice is just a bit bigger than your character sprite, so I didn't want to make a model that took way too much space. Also, Regice's Island Cave Chamber is exactly the same as Registeel's Ancient Tomb Chamber, so you can keep the same set and just swap out the Regi's!
