Not only Monolith Soft was involved in BOTW/TOTK, they also contributed towards Skyward Sword and A Link Between Worlds.
And starting today, they'll released three more interviews on their involvement in developing the Zelda games. The first touching on Character Art/Modeling.

But…are they involved in a brand new Zelda yet to be revealed?
Surfs up
One of the best Investment Nintendo did by acquiring Monolith Soft.
I heard a rumor that theyre the devs for the OoT remake that got leaked a week or so ago
Timing of this definitely makes me wonder if theres something to that
Insanely talented folks they are. They’ve developed and co-developed so many major system sellers for the Switch.
Wish Xenoblade was as successful because their talent truly shines there.
April direct back on?! I am so hyped for OoT remake and new Star Fox.
I remember some years ago that they were hiring for a fantasy project. Maybe it was a Zelda from the start or maybe Nintendo heads seeing the potential decided to turn it into a Zelda project instead of a new licence.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again I would NOT be shocked if Nintendo makes Monolith Soft a “3rd pillar” for Zelda in the future. Yes they helped make BOTW/TOTK but I mean I wouldn’t be shocked if they give Monolith full reigns for Zelda in the future where they create their own Zelda games.
If Nintendo truly wants Zelda to remain a yearly franchise they are gonna need multiple dev studios to work on the franchise. Also I think Nintendo knows people are clamoring for the old “OOT style” 3D Zeldas again so my proposal is this.
Grezzo continues to make Top Down Zelda games, Nintendo EPD3 makes new “OOT style” 3D Zelda games again, and Monolith Soft makes new “Open Air” Zelda games. 3 pillars of Zelda with spin-offs like Hyrule Warriors or Cadance of Hyrule by 3rd party devs to fill in the gaps. This also keeps the franchise “fresh” and preventing “fatigue” by offering 3 different gameplay experiences year after year from 3 different development teams.
Edit: Can someone explain why I’m being downvoted I’m genuinely curious?
I didn’t know they worked on actual character designs too. They gave us a pretty great Ganondorf design after nearly 20 years without one
I just realized; Monolith had a hand in development of every mainline Zelda game released since Skyward Sword EXCEPT Echoes of Wisdom; the 2D Zelda game that takes the most inspiration from 3D open world Zelda games. Weird how for the game that gives you so much freedom of movement they had no involvement in development of it.
120,000 combinations?!
I just hope any new zelda has no ultrahand or contraption building whatsoever.
