When in the time between the end of Gen 7 and the beginning of Gen 8, I had a friend of mine pass away. Her favorite Pokemon was Mimikyu, and so, when I got SwSh, I began shiny hunting Mimikyu and got the lil guy after only 25 eggs. I named him Kay, after my friend, and took him from Galar to Paldea and now Kalos. Every game he can be, I'm taking him.
In the meantime, before Home let me take Kay here, I decided to go on a second shiny hunt, not just for any shiny Mimikyu, but an alpha shiny. It did take me quite a bit longer than Kay, but eventually, I got him. Naturally, as the second shiny hunt on my friend's behalf, I named him Kay Jr.
Now that Pokemon Home is out, Kay can come to Lumiose, and I kinda feel like, in some small way, it's a way for my friend to experience all the games she missed. I hope she knows I'm bringing her with me.
