I’m playing Pokemon Masters, a mobile gacha game set on the island of Pasio. Collect many Pokemon waifus and husbandos and participate in unique battles involving sync pairs.

I believe a lot of you guys might be new here, especially from those Pasio Tower videos. You guys might not be familiar with this, but in true Qlizard fashion, I am uploading Champion Stadium videos very late. I try to always record them because it seems like people still watch them. The true reason why I still record them is because I get to yap in the description.
I haven’t talked about a lot of things this past month. There was that log-in glitch, 6.5 anniversary, challenge Red event, Gym event changes, Battle Rally changes, 30-Year Celebration Special Rally, a bunch of new sync pairs, and probably other things that I’m missing. It has been a crazy few months because of Pasio Tower, but I’m at the point where it’s truly just a waiting game, with the goal of completing it in 14 days.
I wanted to talk about the Banner Priority Ranking Chart of April 2026. I was going to complain about how they put my most wanted sync pair at the bottom, but I think I’m in a bit if a privileged position because I have all the sync pairs from the top half of the chart. Since 6.5 anniversary, a lot of players have joined or returned to the game. A lot of people end up on Reddit asking what characters they should scout for.
It’s tough as a veteran player to give advice in these situations. The characters you currently own, what characters are your favorite, how much premium currency do you have, what upgrade resources you have, and how you like to play the game all have effect what character you should roll for. Generally, people say roll for your favorites, but sometimes you need to get meta characters to progress through the game and have fun. Rolling for meta might lead to a powerful account, but you might be sad when you have to skip someone you really like.
As a veteran player, I think it is super easy to manage meta over favorites. I found that rolling for your favorites is super important, and I don’t think I’ve ever missed a character I really wanted in Pokemon Masters (Summer Steven still eludes me I guess). It is easy for a veteran player to roll for favorites, because if you play the game from the start every day, you accumulate enough resources for both rolling for characters but also to make you account strong so that you don’t always need to roll for the newest, strongest character.
That being said, Pokemon Masters makes it very clear when you want to scout for meta characters, and that is during anniversary (and I guess now during .5 anniversary). They even up the gems you get, encouraging you to scout for the new characters. Even though I don’t always like all the anniversary characters, I’ve always scouted for all the major anniversary characters every year. By doing so, I always have strong characters coming into the next year of Pokemon Masters.
All in all, my general advice is to roll for new, meta characters if you are new or struggling with the game. If you keep at it, you will eventually progress enough to be able to roll for your favorite characters. You just need someone to start your account with. If you have no troubles with general content (or don’t care), just roll for favorites. If you are a sweat, you probably want to just roll for good characters and ignore your favorites, since you are playing to clear content. Generally, your favorites will be good anyways, so this isn’t a bad way to play. I would generally say to not let difficult content dictate who you roll for, but if you are a completionist, you might have to give in and let the developers win (me with Pasio Towers). I never recommend going to pity if you get the rate-up character early, unless you are willing to cough up the remaining gems for that pity character. That pity character better be a favorite or a meta character because those extra gems can be spent on new character that could be a higher priority favorite or meta character. I can also understand pity if you are very close to it and need extra copies of that character. But as a veteran player, you’ll normally just have resources to upgrade character move levels.
Thanks for watching!
