Toadscrawl is based on the Morchella mushroom, which is commonly found in Greece!

The Bug type is because it often scutters away when startled or anxious, like spiders creeping around someone's home.
The Ghost type is because a Toadscrawl actually becomes a Toadscrawl when a child dies near a patch of mushrooms. Toadscrawls are possessed by the souls of children.
