I Made A Felt Plush Pokémon: Typhlosion

I get it, Charizard is cool. He's a big orange dragon with a fiery tail.

But you know what I think is cooler? A porcupine-bear with a blazing mane. Now THAT is what I'm talking about!

Fuego the Typhlosion is the fourth member of my felt plush Pokémon team I've been working on. "Ruby" was my first Pokémon game, but as a kid of the mid 90's, I was raised on the Kanto and Johto regional Pokédexes. In my kid-mind, the Cyndaquil line was the absolute coolest starter to choose in Gen 2, but alas, I was too young for "Gold" or "Silver", and my first starter would inevitably be my Swampert, Mud.

It wasn't until the end game in "Omega Ruby" that I'd finally get my hands on a Cyndaquil of my own.

Being that he was the third felt plush I attempted, I needed to figure out exactly how I was going to handle Fuego's head. I opted for a 3/4 turn view, that from the front shows more of the facial details, while the backside of the head would appear as though the face is looking away from you. This helped avoid a very thin shaped head if I put facial details on both sides.

Fuego stands at 4" tall by 3" wide, and while he can't stand on his own without a support to lean on, he's the perfect shape and size to pick up and squeeze. So who needs him to stand at all when you're picking him up all the time?!

Thanks for checking out my work!
