Hey there! So, I just wanted to share this visual timeline I made based on my perspective on how the Pokémon games' timelines look. I've added some explanations for my placement choices when needed.
We know for sure there are at least 2 timelines: one where Mega Evolution exists and one where it doesn't. But for me, it makes more sense if there are at least 3 timelines, with one of them also having some alternative branches.
I know this is far from 100% accurate, since the games' cohesion on the timeline subject is very lacking, but I tried my best. I also know that my Mega Evolution timeline may have some issues with cameo character ages, especially Mina in Let's Go and Wally in Sun and Moon, but I don't think I can work around that.
On top of that, I noticed that some people place the newer games that don't have Mega Evolution as a gimmick in the "normal" timeline, but it just doesn't make sense to me. Besides, Legends: Z-A mentions the events of Sword/Shield, and Scarlet/Violet have a reference to Mega Evolution in the Pokédex.
