It’s rather consistent throughout Pokémon media that humans are just different beasts in this universe.
In the anime we have Ash lifting Larvitar and throwing entire logs like it’s nothing, surviving being burned alive and electrocuted, jumping several meters in the air, and several humans ca be launched across the horizon without dying.
Then the manga reinforces this by showing characters surviving literal meteor strikes, surviving Impalement, point blank hyper beams from legendaries, lifting boulders and entire Onix’s on multiple occasions and tons more.
Makes sense when you consider humans had to evolve alongside Pokemon. Some literally box Machamps and have psychic powers. But at that point what DOES it take to actually kill them when you can walk off a meteor destroying hyperbeam from Rayquaza within a day?!
