Gigantamax Blastoise Battle Counters

Gmax Blastoise returns this Saturday!

Blastoise was once a great tank & water type attacker in max battles, now outclassed. Currently Blastoise is a decent tank option. Nevertheless, each of the Kanto trio have mega forms, offer good role compression in general. Blastoise has 2 weaknesses, Electric & Grass.

Blastoise has 5 charge moves, 2 Water, 1 each in Normal, Steel & Ice (Hydro Cannon has 2s cooldown; Flash Cannon has 2.5s; Skull Bash has 3s; Hydro Pump & Ice Beam has 3.5s). 3/5 moves are resisted by our steel type tanks & Water type tanks cover the rest.

(On the infographic, each featured pokemon have 2 most damaging (left side) & 2 least damaging (right) boss moves on them listed at the bottom of their panel, moves inside Red – Can absorb a hit, Orange – 2 hits, Yellow segment – 3+ hits can be absorbed and so on. This colour coding is done having Blastoise at 0.85CPM & 1 Attack Multiplier.)

πŸ’§ Gmax Rillaboom is our top Attacker, followed by Gmax Toxtricity which is superior on RAINY weather.

πŸ’§ Blissey is a top Tank & Healer, other good options being Lapras, Vaporeon & Snorlax. Zamazenta is a wall to the 3 resisted moves. Dmax Suicune pairs well with Zamazenta.

Other than the listed PokΓ©mon,

πŸ’§ Dmax forms of Rillaboom (6th) & Toxtricity (8th), Jolteon(7th) are Tier 2 attackers.

πŸ’§ Gmax Snorlax, Gmax/Dmax forms of Blastoise, Dmax Metagross are good specialist tanks. Lugia is a good Catch Tank.

All the Best! πŸ˜ŠπŸ™Œ
