Tapu Lele has returned to Pokémon GO as a Tier 5 Legendary Raid Boss, and this is your complete guide to taking it down and catching a strong one!
Tapu Lele is available in 5-star raids from Wednesday, April 29, 2026, to Tuesday, May 5, 2026. This Psychic and Fairy-type Legendary Pokémon can also be shiny, giving you a great opportunity to add a rare shiny to your collection.
When caught after a raid, Tapu Lele will have the following CP ranges:
• 1912 – 1996 CP (Level 20, no weather boost)
• 2390 – 2496 CP (Level 25, Windy or Cloudy weather boost)
A 100% IV (hundo) Tapu Lele is 1996 CP, or 2496 CP when weather boosted, so keep an eye out for those numbers!
Because of its Psychic/Fairy typing, Tapu Lele is weak to Ghost, Steel, and Poison-type attacks. It resists Psychic, Dragon, and Fighting-type moves, so avoid using those in raids.
Some of the best counters to use against Tapu Lele include:
• Metagross (especially with Meteor Mash)
• Mega Gengar
• Dusk Mane Necrozma
• Dawn Wings Necrozma
• Crowned Sword Zacian
• Crowned Shield Zamazenta
• Shadow Metagross
• Mega Lucario
• Chandelure
• Nihilego
For raid groups, high-level players can complete this raid with around 4–6 trainers, while lower-level players should aim for 7–20 trainers to be safe. A duo is technically possible, but it requires maxed counters, weather boost, best friend bonus, and near-perfect execution.
Tapu Lele’s moveset includes fast moves like Confusion and Astonish, and charged moves such as Psyshock, Future Sight, Moonblast, Focus Blast, and the exclusive move Nature’s Madness (via Elite TM).
Its shiny form is available during this raid rotation, with typical Legendary shiny odds of around 1 in 20, making this a great time to grind raids.

Done like 4 or so got lucky with a 98% shiny tapu lele, my 1st shiny one and I think I'm done with tapu lele already for this rotation I already had the hundo before this and I'd prefer save for the ultra beasts that'll be in raids after as well as global go fest
