Did you try closing the game
No issues from my side. I megad a new Charizard Gigantimax just now to test. All good.

Possibly because you haven’t evolved this to X before and it wants the full amount of energy.

You don’t have enough Mega Energy to do it.
First time Mega Evolving to different form costs 200 despite game showing 32 for you. Tested this today with other user having the same problem.
No idea if that was always there or this is new because of Mega X/Y energy split that they said will happen and they just failed to grasp all the changes and those are side effects.
