Money. If they would have faith in this IP it would be a new Game, and not the 4th Remake.

I think if F-Zero returns it’s going to happen this gen or never. Nostalgia for late 90s/early 00s is at its peak and there’s a market for the kids that grew up with Star Fox 64, OoT, and F-Zero X/GX. Air Riders came back, Star Fox, Metroid Prime, and probably Ocarina.

They weren’t in the Mario movie? they’re releasing the game to go along with the fact that he has a cameo in the new movie and will presumably be in the next one too. This is barely an article, it just reads like the writer’s butt-hurt that there isn’t a new Fzero game out yet, which is kinda only partially true anyway given they literally used screenshots from Fzero 99 in the article lol.

If they aren’t going to make a new F-Zero game along the lines of F-Zero GX or X , I will happily take at LEAST an F-Zero GX remaster

Every day I see a remake or reboot for a series and it sit there expecting that Golden Sun will sadly not get anything new. Love those games so much, but camalot isn’t capable of making those games anymore and seem reluctant to allow another developer to work on the series on their behalf.
Unless nintendo buys them or Isaac gets into smash bros I don’t think we will see anything new from the series anytime soon.

Mother,Startroopers,F-zero should get new games and Mother 3 should be ported.

Star Fox’s multiplayer looks like the main reason it’s back. The avatar system is the gimmick and they threw on an HD remake to justify the asking price.

Everytime those articles are made, it’s about F-Zero or Golden Sun.
Did those people care an inch about Nintendo reviving OTHER franchises, like Another Code and Famicom Detective Club?

How would they utilize F-Zero to make it stand out? Considering they have released Mario Kart World and Kirby Air Riders last year.

I could see Kid Icarus coming back, as from what I remembered, it did well on 3DS. It’s the only one among that list I could see coming back.
Honestly, I would love Golden Sun or the Mother Series to be remade. As Nintendo’s lineup now only has beginner JRPGs. (Pokemon and Mario & Luigi.) Granted, either happening seems unlikely.

we will see more return over the course of this gen. with marios and zeldas taking longer and longer to make, nintendo will need to find ways to pad out their calendar

Tbh the “excuse” is that we’re not someone’s uncle and don’t know Nintendo’s plans. The revival of Star Fox, along with all the others they’ve done since the first Switch launched, is proof that they *are* working on their older franchises. How can someone come to the opposite conclusion after all we’ve seen?
And what did Star Fox’s Direct really show us? That they could be working on pretty much anything at any time… and wait till the last minute to let us know. So you can’t say they’re *not* working on something you want until you know for sure. Games take years to make, not days. Fox was put into the movie because they planned for this. Not the other way around. (At least that’s what I’d assume based on how these things work)
Edit to clarify: not saying movie scripts don’t take a while too. Just that this was obviously always the plan. They put Fox in the movie to create hype, they didn’t decide to come out with the game because of his movie appearance. That’s all I was saying at the end there
