Daily 4800 catch cap seems to be broken or changed

I went really hard to finally hit the catch cap since lechonk is easy to catch but the catch cap seems to be broken and I did not do any trades. The same thing is for the 1200 pokestop cap.

Very interesting, thank you for the dedication it took to achieve this.

I believe Its a 24hr AND and 168 hour rolling cap. The specific catch numbers are 4800 for 24 hours and 14,000 for 168 hours (7 days). What this means is, if you caught 4800 in the last 24 hours but not 14,000 in the last 7 days, you will not be capped. Both caps have to be exceeded. This also means if you caught 0 pokemon in a week someone could try to catch 14,000 in one 24 hour period (though they would be capped for a whole week).

3.3 catches every single minute of every hour in the day on average.

Takes some doing. Not something I would do, but fair play

I think fleece king has hit the limit before.

I’ve been playing since launch and I didn’t even know a catch/spin cap existed. That’s wild!

  7. Back when I played, it was not a daily cap, but a rolling 7 day cap. People used to space it out so that they wouldn’t have to wait multiple days to play at any point in time.

And the time is measured in hr windows.

At least that’s how I remember it.

That is to say there is a cap for how many Pokemon you can catch from the last 168 hours, but it’s measured each hour, so if you catch 500 Pokémon this hour those are removed from your cap after 168 hrs.

For people who want to play every day or every event, they don’t want to accidentally have a whole day where they cannot play, so they soft cap themselves at a reasonable round number daily to break it up.

The same rule applies for Pokestops at a different rate.

Because of how these worked, if you knew there was a big event like a community day, safari zone, or go fest, many hardcore players would slow down ahead of it, so they could play more intensely during those events than their standard limits.

They changed, it’s a weekly cap now

  10. Daily Spinlimit is 2400, and 33600 Catches per week

(33600÷7=4800, thats why people say 4800 is the Cap but its technically wrong as you can catch more)

There isnt a set catch cap like there is a spin cap.
You can catch 5.000 a day or you can catch 15.000 a day, you just shouldnt catch over 4.800/day for many days in a row, because thats when the anticheat will softban you
