Hope has steelworker as another ability, cool design though I like it. Would be cool flavor that it moves pretty slowly but gets fish or aquatic birds to bite hook and uses them to get around for a while

  2. Give the evolution electrode eyes and I’m in

  3. codyxwillyumz

As a kid, I always called the bobber on my fishing line “The Voltorb” so this actually perfect.

  4. riftrender

I thought he was going to be a water/electric sea mine.

  5. Kamui9687

This should absolutely be real, makes me sad Pokémon just doesn’t wanna reach out to fans for their designs :/

  6. The_1Oth_Doctor

This is sick! Also it would be funny if he was still electric because then you could just cook the fish on the hook lol

Side question: Am I the only one who prefers Voltorb over Electrode? I can’t STAND his cocky new eyes

  8. i-dont-speel-no-good

Can you guys actually stop making such good OCs? Gamefreak will never be able to compare at this rate

Given that so many Pokémon come with little “pals” nowadays, you could add a little worm friend on the end (grow as the main pokemon evolves too).

I like this look too much to suggest doing it to this Pokemon, but a different hook/lore Pokemon or an Alolan version possibly?

    Floatorb
    Type: Water
Abilities: Iron Barbs, Steelworker, Lure (Hidden)
    Stats: HP 40, Atk 55, Def 55, S.Atk 30, S.Def 50, Spd 100; BST 330

    Indigatr
    Type: Water/Dark
Abilities: Iron Barbs, Steelworker, Lure (Hidden)
    Stats: HP 60, Atk 80, Def 80, S.Atk 50, S.Def 70, Spd 150; BST 490

Lure would work like Magnet Pull but traps Water-type Pokemon instead of Steel-types. (Chinchou and Lanturn could get it to replace Water Absorb). Conversely, I can see it getting Anchor Shot and gaining Steelworker as a Hidden Ability.

  11. I was fully expecting to see the evolution be “Eluretrode” 😅 I love the design and concept!

  12. Guys please stop coming up with the best designs ever. Every time you do, it just means we’ll never get it in an actual game 😭

    But seriously, >!stop!< impressive work.

  13. Cornmitment

I never put two and two together before this and realized the original pokeball design is probably based off fishing bobbers lol. Thanks for the insight!

  14. I would love for this to have an ability like Cramorant Each time you send it out in battle it hooks a random water pokemon.

  15. vikinglycan

I love it but I’m curious to know why not water/steel?

  16. alchemistmawile

So cool!! But couldn’t the evo be like, Detectrode or something?

  17. dnhouser1

    Dope!

The worst thing about fakemon is that GF won’t come up with ideas this good or use the fan’s designs 🙁

  18. Witch_King_

The only reason Feraligatr uses the “gatr” spelling is because it ran out of letters. No need to copy it when you’re within the limit.

    Abilities

Hooked: After using a contact move on an opposing Pokemon, both the Pokemon and the opponent it attacked are prevented from switching out during the following turn.

Rain Dish (exists): The Pokémon has 1/16 of its max HP restored at the end of every turn in rain.

    Hidden Ability

Wet Fuse: The Pokemon’s Explosive moves become Water type and deal +30% damage. The ability Damp cannot prevent the Pokemon from using Explosive moves.

I’m sure Convergents will break their own rules later on (and they kind of already have with Sinistcha and Poltchageist), but I think with Convergents the point is that the entire tree lines up. Indigatr is cool, but it’d have to look like Electrode and have a similar name to fit.

Otherwise this would just be a Regional Evolution, like Paldean Wooper into Clodsire.

  21. A ball lure evolves into an crocodilian lure…

Still not as weird as Remoraid into Octillery. Amazing design!

  22. Indigatr not having a description somehow implies its ability to ambush preys has significantly increased.

  23. pm-ur-gamepass-trial

i usually dont care for the “object as a pokemon” style but this rocks

  24. OrginalK

Love that the Pokédex entry is literally just calling Floatorb bad at its job. Most relatable Pokémon lore ever.

Somewhere gamefreaks canceled new line elovution for voltorb👆
