I have been working on a project called Pokémon Legends: Star.
You play as an Ultra Megalopolis citizen who becomes a rookie member of the Ultra Recon Squad to research Ultra Space and fight Ultra Beasts. The city serves as the hub world.
There will be 13 new UBs and two new Pokémon that are not ultra beast, A fifth Tapu who is the mother of the four guardian deities of Alola who is Fire/Fairy. A new Eeveelution called Ultreon which is the result of Eevee evolving into Ultra Space but this is not what I'm focusing on today, I am talking about the new UBs I have drawn.
Legends: Star is named after the old rumour of Pokemon Star so I wanted to reference that like how Legends: Z-A references Pokemon Z.
This takes place 8-10 years after the events of Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.
In Ultra Megalopolis, you get to choose three Ultra Beasts Starters:
UB: Adhesive/Poipole – Poison
Evolves into UB: Stinger/Naganadel – Poison/Dragon
We know who these guys are.
UB: Growth/Groween – Grass
It is based on a Kudzu seed pod. Uses vines as limbs and the true seed is inside. The mouth is underneath it's body.
Evolves into UB: Vines/Rebegong – Grass/Steel
Based on Kudzu vines and a bit of Mealybugs with chinese armour motifs. The pod body has now hardened into Armour and the vines has grown exponentially. It mouth is on top of the head. Rebegong can wrap around opponents to ensnare them.
UB: Burrow/Borown – Ground
Based on Coypus and Moles. It uses its Drill tail to dig through surfaces.
Evolves into UB: Drill/Sibohren – Ground/Fairy
Based on Fairies and Coypus. The Drill tail has now become its mouth which can split into four parts with teeth inside. It can drill into almost any surface.
In the Ultra Deep Sea:
UB: Bones/Skelehook – Ghost/Flying
Based on Roi Fish, skeletons and that Europan Hookmouth meme. It is the flattest Ultra Beast. It floats about as it uses the hook to hunt.
In the Ultra Jungle:
UB: Appendage/Leapengua – Water/Fighting
Based on Coqui Frogs. It uses the Water tongue to climb and swing about the swollen trees of this world. It likes to arm wrestles with Buzzwole.
In the Ultra Desert:
UB: Monolith/Roculus – Rock
Based on Geckos and is a redegisn of that scrapped gen 3 design from the teraleak. The Diamond on its monolith stone tail acts as eyes. It often hides behind its tail but can detach from it when needed. The Eyes resembles the diamonds found in the Ultra Desert.
In the Ultra Forest:
UB: Flare/Shinugon – Fire/Dragon
Based on Roosters and Amaterasu. It is a more rarer Ultra Beast in the Ultra Forest and is seen as a god. The flames on Shinugon's back can cut you.
In the Ultra Circus:
Blachephalon lives there but also UB: Illusion/Trickidere – Fairy/Psychic
Based on Rabbits and magicians. The hat acts as a little portal and spaceship. It likes to hypnotize and pull illusions on its opponents to confuse them. The true body hidden within its hat is very long, rope like body and is just duplicates of its head.
In the Ultra Tundra:
UB: Flake/Glacoroz – Ice
Based on Snowflake Corals. It resembles a snowflake but is actually a coral. It eats with its face and feeds with its eye hole.
In the Ultra Library:
UB: Wisdom/Knowlitra – Psychic
Based on Barn Owls and Wizards. It is a very intelligent Ultra Beasts and acts as a librarian guardian for its world. It can floats as well as talk telepathically.
In the Ultra Highway:
UB: Drive/Velocihog – Electric/Fire
Based on Optimus Prime, Trucks and Hogs. Despite its large and heavy appearance, it is extremely fast. When charged up, the electric fire flares up out of its pipes.
There is also a mythical Ultra Beast called UB: Warn/Omentera – Dark/Flying.
Based on Mothman. It is believed to be a omen of disaster wherever it appears. It hides into the shadows. The wings acts as the eyes.
