Shadow Pokemon now deal more damage in Pokemon GO. With the Shadow Boost / Shadow Bonus Update in Pokemon GO, the script has been flipped on the best attackers in the game. If you thought Rayquaza was the best Dragon-type Pokemon, guess what? It’s actually Salamence now. Roserade is the best Grass? Nope, that’s Shadow Victreebel.
The Shadow Boost in Pokemon GO increases their effective attack stat by 20% and lowers their effective defense stat by 20%. While this sounds fair and balanced, we all know that attack is king when it comes to raids. As a result, even common Pokemon are now beating out Legendaries with a Shadow Bonus.
To help players navigate which Pokemon are best, I decided to make a Top 5 list of each Type in Pokemon GO. Keep in mind, I do expect Niantic to nerf this because the bonus is so insane. This bonus also influences PvP, but that’s for another video.
