Champion Stadium – Kanto Master Mode #3 – Monotype Teams – 7500 points

1) Lorelei (0:00)
2) Bruno (2:30)
3) Agatha (5:11)
4) Lance (7:49)
5) Blue (11:54)

1) Lorelei – Raichu (3/5), Luxray (2/5), Rotom (1/5)
Raichu is not a particularly exciting unit to use, as it really is just another “buff then attack” unit. However, it does get the job done and has a decent sync nuke with Inertia. I do feel like Hau is slightly underrated, as much of the attention for Electric types is now on Zekrom and Zebstrika. Luxray provides accuracy and electric terrain support, and Rotom fills in the gaps with Sp. Atk and crit support.

Grids: Raichu goes for Sync power, Inertia, Discharge nodes. Luxray grid is not that relevant here tbh. Rotom only at 1/5 so get everything.
Parameters: Phys/Special shields, No status, No stat reduce, Sync buff, Max HP 2, Ally healing -5, Power on hit 1 and 2, countdown -2, move gauge -2

2) Bruno – Swanna (3/5, 5* 20/20), Pidgeot (4/5), Toucannon (5/5)
A flying team against Bruno will obviously benefit from Swanna, and thanks to the rally we have her maxed out. Toucannon is a decent striker for a 4*, and obviously Pidgeot is an elite flying striker. It seems like there aren’t that many flying types out there. There is Nate which is below average, but most of them are limited – NY Lance, Holiday Skyla, and recently Yveltal. That doesn’t leave you with much options. The only other flying type I have is Pelipper.

Grids: Pidgeot goes for Brutal Clarity / Pinpoint Accuracy. I kept Air Cutter CS3 because sometimes I use him in BV co-op, but usually you would go for a Hurricane build. Swanna goes for the standard healing tiles.
Parameters: Phys/Special shields, No status, No stat reduce, Strength +1, Sync Buff, Max HP +2, Gradual Healing, Countdown -2, Power on Hit 1/2, Move Gauge -2

3) Agatha – Sandslash (1/5), Dewgong (3/5, 4*), Abomasnow
Even with Summer Steven, I don’t have Glalie or Delibird, so running a pure Ice team is still a bit tricky. The biggest problem here is move gauge, there is almost no chance that we can Icy Wind + Icicle Crash every turn, so we have to balance the MP a bit. Candice sort of helps because of X Speed, and she can throw up Hail so that Steven can get +3 crit in one turn. It’s expected that Candice will go down, and then the rest is up to battle RNG. Win rate is about 20 percent. This run was a bit lucky, and I think I could have won with all 3 alive if I used Icy Wind at the end.

Grids: Dewgong goes for Icy Wind MGR / Accuracy, and Invigorating Hail 6. Steven goes for MGR / MPR, everything else at 1/5.
Parameters: Phys/Special shields, Countdown -1 and -2, Atk +1, No status, sync buff, No stat reduce, ally healing -5, power on hit 1+2, gradual healing, move gauge -2

4) Lance – Whimsicott (1/5), Alcremie (1/5), Xerneas (5/5 20/20)
Xerneas might just be the new #2 support. A single sync maxes out 3 stats, and then you have access to Horn Leech which allows you to survive for a really long time. Whimsicott is our main striker, and I’m still waiting on 2 more tech candy coins to make her 2/5 EX. Alcremie has some nice techy moves that help out with both offense and defense. Parameters are quite different than what I’m used to. Since we don’t have crit support, we can put up critical shields, but that also means we have to get rid of the physical / special shields. Half HP is fine since our entire team has healing. We mostly give them HP buffs and make it an extended battle, since Xerneas can stay alive forever. Last note, if right side uses X Evasion All, might as well just reset, since that shit is annoying.

Grids: Xerneas goes for Horn Leech Master Healer 2, Impervious.
Parameters: Atk +1, Sync Buff, Crit Shield, Countdown -2, Ally HP -5, Max HP +4, Max HP +6, Move Gauge -2

5) Blue – Emboar (5/5), Rapidash, Torchic
I don’t use Hilda often but she does have a nice nuke. Torchic provides crucial crit support, and the turning point of this battle is whether you get a sync crit on the first sync. If you don’t, it’s still possible to win, but the sync crit makes the rest of the battle much easier.

Grids: Emboar goes for Inertia, Speedy Entry 2, all the sync nodes.
Parameters: Special shield, Atk +1, No status, No stat reduce, sync buff, HP +2, HP +4, ally healing -5, power on hit 1 + 2, Gradual Healing, Move Gauge -2
