This was originally going to be a long-winded opinion posts, but nobody really likes those. Here’s an arbitrary scoring system on the purchasing of remakes instead! (Suggestions to improve the system welcomed.)
**In-game**
New game mode (ex. Bowser’s Fury, Minion Quest) **+3**
New major gameplay feature (ex. two new characters in NSMBUDX, co-op mode in P3DX) **+3**
Move from handheld to console or vice versa (eg. OOTDX, Miitopia) **+2 Note: Switch ports count as console for this purpose.**
Features all previous DLC, if any (ex. Pikmin 3 DX, MK8DX) **+1 for every DLC pack**
New minor QOL features that seem nice to *you specifically* (ex. run slightly faster in 3D world) **+1**
Visibly better graphics (ex. Wind Waker HD) **+1**

**Out-of-game**
Remake is more expensive than 150% of the current market value as shown by [this website:](https://www.pricecharting.com/game/nintendo-64/zelda-ocarina-of-time) (loose price) **-1, plus** -**1 for every 10 dollars past the price. (Note: Price individually for collections.)**
This game does not look interesting to you: **-2**
You already own this game: **-2**
This game has been ported from past last console **+1 for each console past the first (Note: Console and handhelds are on different timelines, except when the port is specifically console-handheld.)**

**So, should you buy?**
I want a new old game, but I ain’t picky: 3 points should suffice.
I want to make sure my remakes are quality: 5 points should be fine.
I want only the most lofty of remakes to reach my Amazon account!: Goodness, sir! Would 8 points do it for you?

**If the remake’s points exceed your threshold, buy this remake!** (Outside of any extraneous circumstances.)
