Ever seen a 1/5 6star EX character? I have now~ I have faced this stage with so many team combinations now I lost count. Finally I landed on this team which I feel I have the most chance of succeeding. However I’m always that close to finishing the match, and in the end, Groudon would finish me first. So I decided to power up Swampert, a sync pair I know I wouldn’t mind spending recources on.
The real problem here is the Charizards using sunny day to cancel out rain and constantly spamming Heat Wave. So I had to use Rainy Day right from the start, or else Glalie goes down in 3 moves. Speaking of Glalie, weird choice right? But in this situation for me, Glalie is a perfect fit somehow. I wanted someone who can buff special attack and interrupt the opponents and Glalie is perfect for the role. So I purposed her grid to have Ice Beam Hostile Environment 2. Still a small trigger chance but it triggers often enough to slow the enemy down. And paired with the flinch chance from Pelipper, it becomes a potent combo. And it’s an absolute blessing that Glalie has team regen.
KO Groudon before it syncs is very important, unless you’re confident you can take sync boosted Heat Waves repeatedly. So Glalie buffs Sp Atk and cast regen on everyone, Pelipper tries to flinch the opponent and cast rain when necessary, then Swampert does everything she can to wash everyone away. By the time Groudon is down, you’ll just have to pray that Muddy Water hits.
