Over the past decade, we’ve seen Nintendo characters show up in one piece of charming animation after another. It all started with the [Kid Icarus Uprising](https://youtu.be/8bCwBTp9e_M) trilogy of animated shorts, each one handled by a different studio. Then there was the [Pikmin Short Movies](https://youtu.be/233Z0WhDrak), originally released to promote Pikmin 3 on the Wii U and have since been reuploaded to Nintendo’s YouTube page. After that was [Star Fox Zero – The Battle Begins](https://youtu.be/wA2-0nTxaGg), a 15 minute animated short that served as a prologue to the game’s events. Following that was the [Yoshi’s Woolly World](https://youtu.be/_o6yvb5E2Sw) series of stop motion skits that coincided with the 3DS port in late 2016. And now we have the Mario movie from Illumination that we still don’t know a thing about. Even animations from cutscenes within Nintendo’s games make me smile, with the most prominent examples being the anime cutscenes for the [Link’s Awakening remake](https://youtu.be/QKSDts-tOaA), the wacky antics of the [WarioWare](https://youtu.be/PRWB5ukEs_8) crew from the last two entries, and Luigi just being Luigi in [Luigi’s Mansion 3](https://youtu.be/_1vsDB6RNko). I still silently hope for a Super Smash Bros. anime after seeing [Palutena’s reveal trailer](https://youtu.be/xqTW13AYniY) for Smash 4.
