6 Water Starters take on the Entei Legendary Arena [Pokemon Masters EX]

0:00 – Flinch/Sleep team: Kris / Hilbert / Elio
2:53 – EX Rival team: EX Barry / EX SS Blue / EX May
5:56 – Bonus Eggmon team: Strike Egg Squirtle / EX SS Blue / Elio

Just for fun, since the last time I used them all together was in the 7.8/10 CS video. Since I don’t have Inteleon, I was able to use all six of the water starters I have across two clears. But as you can see, there’s a third bonus clear that features a seventh water starter not named Inteleon.

Here’s how each battle went, and the sync grids used:

Team 1: Kris / Hilbert / Elio – https://pokemon-masters-stuff.github.io/#/team-builder/?id1=10122000000&e1=1&o1=738&g1=AAECAwQFBgcKDRAZGhwfJSYoLw==&s1=3&id2=10018000000&e2=1&o2=738&g2=AAECAwQFBgkREhQXGBwdICMkLi8=&s2=5&id3=10020000000&e3=0&o3=750&g3=AAECAwQFBggKDRAaHB8hIiUnKg==&s3=5

While the main counterplay of this stage is Flinch, Sleep is just as effective, and much more reliable here than in Cobalion’s LA (which actually recommends sleep hahaha). While Entei starts with Lessen Sleep 9, he never gets to Wide Awake, so Elio’s Primarina is free to sing his heart out. Both Kris and Hilbert bring Aggravation 1 Waterfall to this fight too – I chose to spam Waterfall for Kris over Mega Kick for the flinches and to save on the gauge. Kris got priority for the sync with her Haymaker-boosted sync nuke, but I also got Team Sync Cure 9 from Elio’s grid in case Entei lands his AOE burns.

Team 2: EX Barry / EX SS Blue / EX May – https://pokemon-masters-stuff.github.io/#/team-builder/?id1=10126000000&e1=1&o1=738&g1=AAECAwQFExUYGR0fIiMlJw==&s1=5&id2=10099000000&e2=1&o2=738&g2=AAECAwQFBgcKDA8REhUWFxgZGhsuLw==&s2=5&id3=10021010000&e3=1&o3=738&g3=AAECAwQFBhMUFiYoKi0zNDU=&s3=3

Didn’t realize until I put together this team for the stage that this is technically an all-EX Rival clear! SS Blue did SS Blue things, while May’s main role was to fish for Earth Power debuff procs. Barry skipped out on his move multipliers and got both Inertia and Cakewalk, setting up his own nuke with Bubble Beam On a Roll 4. There were quite a number of things that could’ve gone better with this run – Team Shout 4 didn’t proc a lot of Sp Atk buffs, Earth Power didn’t proc a lot of Sp Def debuffs, SS Blue got an unlucky flinch near the end, etc. – but even with all of those, this was still an easy clear thanks to Barry’s OP sync.

Team 3: Strike Egg Squirtle / EX SS Blue / Elio – https://pokemon-masters-stuff.github.io/#/team-builder/?id1=10122000000&e1=1&o1=738&g1=AAECAwQFBgcKDQ4aHB4gIyUmKCs=&s1=3&id2=18000040007&e2=60&o2=0&g2=&s2=1&id3=10021010000&e3=1&o3=738&g3=AAECAwQFBhMUFiYoKi0zNDU=&s3=3

Can’t forget the other water starter I do have, now can I? I knew I was gonna bring SS Blue so that it’s a father-and-son moment between their Pokemon, while I picked Elio for the third slot for his Sing and Mind Games 4. There were quite a lot of close calls here, but thankfully Squirtle lived through the entire clear, and it even got to spam some Power Reserves 2 boosted Hydro Pumps in the end. Was very lucky with all the heal procs from SS Blue, and I don’t think I would’ve been able to keep Squirtle until the end if it weren’t for that.
