Nintendo Switch

What Nintendo franchises have you slept on for the longest time before finally trying them out on the Switch?

I can’t really say off the top of my head that I slept on many Nintendo franchises before the Switch, as any of them that I’ve tried before I enjoyed them on previous Nintendo systems.

The closest thing I can think of is Zelda, as I have not beaten any Zelda game before Breath of the Wild. After that, I dug out my 3DS and bought A Link Between Worlds and couldn’t put it down for days. Both of these games offered such a sense of freedom that I wondered how more traditional Zelda games compare. I’ve since purchased Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD on Wii U and tried both of them out, only to realize that I’m not the biggest fan of the “traditional” Zelda formula. At least there’s BOTW2 to look forward to.

The next closest thing is the the Bayonetta series, as I own both games on the Switch after skipping them on Wii U. I’m not far into Bayonetta 1, but I want to finish it because I heard from many outlets that Bayonetta 2 is exactly what a sequel should strive for. I love the Nintendo themed costumes here. Once I got Bayo in the Samus costume, I never looked back.

I guess I can also count Mario Party, seeing as I completely skipped every entry up until the Switch. Super Mario Party was a fun time especially after the online update earlier this year, but now Mario Party Superstars has become one of my most played multiplayer games on the system. The minigames, boards, and online play were so good that I got the hardest online achievement in the game fairly soon after release! Still though, screw online achievements. Also the “Last 5 Turns” renditions of the board themes go way harder than they should. [Peach’s Birthday Cake](https://youtu.be/ohUMH9IzhQ0) and [Horror Land](https://youtu.be/OY2cdHd6Lzg) especially got me grooving every time they come up.

So? What say you?
