Do you ever feel bad for deleting a save on a used game you just bought?

Do you ever feel bad for deleting a save on a used game you just bought? Particularly a game where you know this person had put their heart and soul into the game? Unlocked most, if not all the features. Hours upon hours, days, weeks, months, maybe even years dedicated to the game. Could of been their favorite game… Then for what ever reason they parted ways.

Perhaps they simply were wanting another game, maybe the next in the series. Maybe they were desperate and needed what little money they could get for it for food, bills, a new baby, etc., knowing full well the person buying would most likely upsale it highly. Maybe they were away to college and their parents sold it not realizing how much it truly meant to them or an ex knowing full well how much it meant to them.

One way or another you came across it. Some games allow for a few saves. Others only one. You have to delete something, maybe all. How do you feel about that? If there is another space to save without deleting, do you let the other saves live on in their memory? If none are available, do you delete the least progress made, usually by low percentage of game completed? Or you delete it all without a care in the world? Do you ever try their save just to see where they were at or what they were doing?

Same goes for used memory cards and games you both had. There had to be some connection there, as you two at least had interest in the same game. Could of been a potential friend, if the circumstances were right.

Edit: Changed the picture to something Pokemon, as that seems to be the general theme here with replies. I never got into the game my self, but have been eyeing the older handheld ones and the way everyone here describes it makes it sound wonderful. Any suggestions?

Also cleaned my post up a bit. I never thought this would garner so many responses. I truly appreciate it. I will try to get back to them.

And Merry Christmas. I hope you all got what you wanted. (Anything video game related?) And got to spend time with family and friends and eat good food.
Take care.
