I’m a sucker for swing/hookshot games of any kind. I picked up Webbed and it didn’t click at first until I discovered the puzzles are more about setting up your own webs and zip lines to navigate the world.

And it is so rewarding! Once the movement settled in I have found myself just swinging around, catching flies, exploring areas. As you set up webs they stay throughout the game, so navigating gets progressively easier and more fun. Since the world is metroidvania-esque they also help a great deal with tracking where you have been, and where you still need to go.

Also adorable. The insects/arachnids you meet as characters are charming and I found the quests they give you to be fun. If you ever played the original PixelJunk Eden, this is like an expanded fully fleshed-out version of those mechanics.

It seems pretty short, haven’t beaten it yet, but I have found myself trying to 100% all the areas before moving on. I’d say it’s got an Ori vibe, without the crushing sadness!

Definitely recommend. Great way to spend a weekend!
