“Currently, the Environment Development Office’s working on supporting physics-based rendering, and we’re looking for a balance between realism and Pokémon-ness. With new technologies appearing every day, I think ray tracing, which calculates the colour and brightness of objects by tracking light rays, and super-resolution technologies, such as DLSS, will become indispensable; and I’m also paying attention to the technologies introduced in the latest game engines, such as Unreal Engine 5.”
