TOEM is a little puzzle indie game about taking pictures and petting animals. I’ve been playing a lot of big AAA games recently that have been eating up a lot of time and I was looking for a casual game I could just pick up and beat rather quickly. Saw some gameplay and being a fan of Pokémon snap I gave it a shot.
This game is just so damn cute and charming it makes me feel like a giddy school child. Discovering animals and characters to take pictures of in order to solve puzzles is so rewarding (Like oh a little monkey in a hat, well I gotta have a pic of that). The art style is simplistic but effective and even though there isn’t any color, the game still pops in such a delightful way. It’s simple but so amazingly effective at accomplishing what it set out to do.
The game is 20 dollars and for about a 5 hour runtime to 100 percent the game that is kinda steep. But it’s been one of the most pleasant gaming experiences I’ve had in a while. I’d give it a shot if I were you, it will make you feel warm and fuzzy.
