Just like Giovanni who got Psystrike along with Mewtwo’s mega evolution, Zinnia gets the hard-hitting Dragon Ascent. However just like Giovanni she gets nothing on grid specifically for Dragon Ascent, and unlike Giovanni who doesn’t really need Psystrike except in relatively rare scenarios since Psychic and Shadow Ball are already good, Outrage is a much weaker physical alternative to Dragon Ascent with the downside of forcing you to take the Clearheaded node or lucky skill. Additionally while her mega now resets stat drops which you’ll presumably get from spamming her TM there’s not really any way to deal with Dragon Ascent dropping your defensive stats. However, Zinnia also has an innate Weather Surge 3 multiplier as well as another on grid, which serves as your multipliers on top of MGR 2 on mega evolving so you can sort of pretend she has grid tiles for Dragon Ascent. Kinda sucks that she’s still weather dependent for her multipliers and weather is generally preferred on dedicated abusers of that weather.
For the most part she still plays the same, potentially self-sufficient with Eagle Eye to max crit and a TM MPR proc to hit +6 but still keeps the problem of taking a while to set up everything herself. We bring in Winona to buy time by flinching Bulu and providing rain to trigger modifiers.
