Big fan of Legendary Arenas becoming permanently available. Not only is it great practice for Gauntlet, but it’s also a good way to test out all kinds of team comps and builds in 11 wildly different boss battles. To celebrate the occasion, I decided to do some pseudo-mirror matches where I use the legendaries against themselves. I only have four of the units with species that have their own arenas, so they’re getting the video for today.

Here’s how each battle went, and the sync grids used:

Vs. Entei: Evelyn / EX Event Blue / Tech Omanyte – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=013940&s0=1&l0=140&r0=1&p0=0&a0=13010602&t0=14&n0=1&f0=0&v1=020500024400&s1=1&l1=140&r1=5&p1=0&a1=21010101&t1=41111&g1=AAECAwQFBgcICQoMERITFBobHB0eICUmJyg&v2=002100005900&s2=5&l2=140&r2=4&p2=0&a2=13010602&t2=44444&g2=AAECAwQFBhEUFxgaHR4gKCsuLw

Evelyn really surprised me with how great she is in Gauntlet. Not only does she give good defensive buffs and sustain, but she also helps a lot with the gauge thanks to Revenge Boost 9. Sure, it ruins the quad-queue, but that’s less of a hassle in LA since you can make up for the lost turn by playing with the enemy HP anyway. She helps fellow fire doggo user Event Blue here, while Tech Omanyte provides flinches. Both are quite gauge-heavy but I mostly managed thanks to Evelyn.

Vs. Cobalion: Scottie / Sophocles / Brawly – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=004300029700&s0=5&l0=140&r0=3&p0=0&a0=18040702&t0=44411&g0=AAECAwQFBggKDRAREhUWHSAiIw&v1=900000063800&s1=3&l1=140&r1=5&p1=0&a1=21010101&t1=44&g1=AAECAwQFBggLDhAREhUaLC4&v2=003600077700&s2=5&l2=140&r2=4&p2=0&a2=13010602&t2=44141&g2=AAECAwQFCw4VGCAjJSksLi8

No surprise that Cobalion’s good against itself given its physical defense focus. Brawly activates the master passive while also giving heals, and I got Trip Up from his grid to help with Sophocles’s Cakewalk multiplier. It got a bit dicey in the end, but thankfully Sophocles pushed through.

Vs. Cresselia: EX SS Dawn / SS Misty / BP Janine – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=011002013400&s0=4&l0=140&r0=5&p0=0&a0=21010101&t0=44111&g0=AAECAwQFBggLDhUYGxwfISQlLi8&v1=011602048800&s1=1&l1=140&r1=5&p1=0&a1=17041601&t1=4111&g1=AAECAwQFBgcICQoMERITFBobHB0eICUmJyg&v2=006000016900&s2=3&l2=140&r2=4&p2=0&a2=21010101&t2=4111&g2=AAECAwQFBggLDRMZGhwfISQmLw

Caved and used the first select scout to get her. SS Dawn takes care of the status side of Cresselia’s gimmicks thanks to her sync, and she of course tanks the stage very well. I gave her Healthy Healing as a lucky skill to preserve Moonlight uses. This was inspired by Zinfogel’s own SS Misty clear against Cresselia (https://youtu.be/NT1I7R2LHPM), which showed me just how ridiculous SS Misty’s sync nuke can be. I think BP Janine is the first pair to boost both Sp Atk and evasion, which is just what SS Misty needs.

Vs. Latios: EX SS Brendan / Strike Dragonite / Drake – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=014910&s0=5&l0=140&r0=1&p0=0&a0=13010602&t0=44&n0=1&f0=0&v1=001901038100&s1=3&l1=140&r1=5&p1=0&a1=21010101&t1=44444&g1=AAECAwQFBgcICg0QExYXGCUm&v2=009400037300&s2=5&l2=140&r2=4&p2=0&a2=21010101&t2=4411&g2=AAECAwQFBhESExQWFxgaHB4fISIl

The only true mirror match of this video hahaha. Between both SS Brendan and Drake, Strike Dragonite has enough bulk to power through the stage and wreck havoc with Outrage. Unfortunately she falls prey to back-to-back crits in the third bar, but thankfully the damage is already really high by then.
