[Retro Fighters is doing another Kickstarter](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1247448559/brawler64-n64-bluetooth-wireless-for-switch-online-switch-pc), this time for a new version of their famous “Brawler64” controller that’s made specifically for maximum compatibility with Switch Online N64.
It connects via Bluetooth instead of needing a dongle, the Switch actually recognizes and treats it like one of Nintendo’s own official N64 controllers, and Retro Fighters have added some extra buttons *(Minus and Screenshot, plus a “mode switch” button)* to make sure it can do everything that Nintendo’s version can. Oh and there’s built-in rumble, too.
Stretch goals include motion controls at $100K and a “Gold” edition at $200K.
I tried out the Retro-Bit Tribute64 recently but wasn’t really digging it, was considering pre-existing versions of the Brawler64, and Nintendo’s 1st-party option is obviously out of stock 99% of the time… so this announcement was a very pleasant surprise for me. Maybe the quickest KickStarter pledge I’ve ever made.
