4 villains infiltrate Legendary Gauntlet 4 [Pokemon Masters EX]

0:00 – Vs. Uxie: EX Maxie / EX Bede / Erika
4:48 – Vs. Tapu Bulu: Ghetsis / Egg Hitmontop / Sycamore
9:52 – Vs. Uxie: James / EX Anniversary Raihan / Support Dratini
13:39 – Vs. Entei: EX Cyrus / Support Clefairy / Palentines Dawn

There was one clear I wanted to show here (the first one) so I ended up making a theme around it. I’m saving my rivals clear for the finale (as usual lol) and I’m saving SS Erika for another theme, so villain theme it is!

Here’s how each battle went, and the sync grids used:

Vs. Uxie: EX Maxie / EX Bede / Erika – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=024600085800&s0=3&l0=140&r0=5&p0=0&a0=13010602&t0=4441&g0=AAECAwQFBgcKDQ4jJSkqKy0&v1=019200038300&s1=3&l1=140&r1=5&p1=0&a1=13016303&t1=44111&g1=AAECAwQFBgkREhQXGRobJS4&v2=000800004500&s2=3&l2=140&r2=3&p2=0&a2=21010101&t2=44411&g2=AAECAwQFERIUFyMkJygpKy0

I was debating for a while on whether or not to use Bede Uxie’s stage. While his status change is invaluable, confusion is one of the hardest to work with, and Bede doesn’t really have a say on when he gets to activate it thanks to Gobsmack 4 (unlike most other units where they have to use a specific move to induce confusion), which is a detriment in Uxie’s stage in particular. But I ended up using him for this stage anyway since he does have his Max Move, which not only bypasses both Healthy Advantage and Acute Senses, but can also summon a field effect.

It’s pretty obvious which one I use here, as both Maxie and Erika appreciate the extra sun turns. Bede’s high-powered sync also meant that he didn’t have to rely on Uxie being confused for too long. The one thing that should go in your favor is for his initial Mystical Fire at the start of the battle to not proc confusion, which is easy enough to reset for. That ending was a bit of a mess, but you get the idea haha.

Vs. Tapu Bulu: Ghetsis / Egg Hitmontop / Sycamore – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=023740&s0=1&l0=140&r0=1&p0=0&a0=18040702&t0=41&n0=1&f0=0&v1=019500064600&s1=5&l1=140&r1=5&p1=0&a1=13010602&t1=4111&g1=AAECAwQFBgcIHSAhIiMkJigqLg&v2=013600071600&s2=5&l2=140&r2=5&p2=0&a2=21010101&t2=41141&g2=AAECAwQFGhweICMkJikrLS8

I believe Sycamore can solo this stage so it should be no surprise that this was an easy clear. Ghetsis makes up for Sycamore’s lack of Defense buffs by providing Attack debuffs, which also powers up his sync. Hitmontop’s Speed debuffs also powers up Ghetsis’s moves, while his Defense debuffs makes Sycamore’s Horn Leech even more vampiric.

Vs. Uxie: James / EX Anniversary Raihan / Support Dratini – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=014920&s0=1&l0=140&r0=1&p0=0&a0=21010101&t0=41&n0=1&f0=0&v1=025701033000&s1=3&l1=140&r1=5&p1=0&a1=18046402&t1=44111&g1=AAECAwQFBgcICQsTFRggKSouLw&v2=024100011000&s2=5&l2=140&r2=3&p2=0&a2=21010101&t2=4441&g2=AAECAwQF

James is a grid away from becoming a full-fledged tank tbh. MPRs, Master Healer on his trainer move, and literally any other form of sustain (Healthy Healing, First Aid 4, heck even Vigilance so I can get Healthy Healing as a lucky skill) would already be enough for him. While he’s obviously good for Uxie thanks to his poison, he actually hates this stage the most in this rotation because of being Psychic-weak. So I paired him up with a strong sync nuker in Anni Raihan, whose buffs are completed by Support Dratini.

Vs. Entei: EX Cyrus / Support Clefairy / Palentines Dawn – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=003620&s0=1&l0=140&r0=1&p0=0&a0=21010101&t0=41&n0=1&f0=0&v1=019401048400&s1=5&l1=140&r1=5&p1=0&a1=13010602&t1=4411&g1=AAECAwQFERQXGh8hIyYpKiswMTM&v2=011601086900&s2=3&l2=140&r2=5&p2=0&a2=21010101&t2=41111&g2=AAECAwQFFRYXGx0eHyIjJCUmKCs

If you’re gonna use this team, don’t make the same mistake I did – make sure Clefairy is the one tanking instead of PalDawn. It has both Escape Artist and Flameproof to ignore Entei’s shenanigans, and Cyrus’s damage is high enough that its lower bulk won’t matter at all. That also means you’re free to use the Potions on Clefairy itself as the regen from PalDawn’s trainer move should be enough for the rest of the team.

(Also Impose on PalDawn’s grid was helpful for making sure Hydro Pump doesn’t miss.)
