Just for a change and maybe there is a video out there but I would like to hear what a non die-hard pokemon fan thinks of this game.

Arcerus’s new and fun approach to Pokemon died for this.

So, the good news is that Auto-Battling gives you an insignificant amount of XP. The bad news is that the game is still linear, due to a lack of level scaling. Also sounds like the Damage Scaling from PLA is no longer a thing in battles. Meaning that you more than likely are going to over-level your desired team… Really hoping that these Story Events come with recommended Pokémon levels, so I can adjust my team accordingly. :/

Pokemon should have never gone 3D

Honest to god Pokémon go has been the only Pokémon I like outside of the GBA games and prior.
ConoRiot
Could’ve been Pokémon: Breath of the Wild.
Instead it looks half baked.
I was very excited to try a new Pokémon game because I’ve missed playing these games over the last few years.
I guess I’ll just wait for 3DS games to come on the Switch and play Omega Ruby.

Tetra forms are just ugly af and ruins the game for me.

I wish I was excited for this but I’m tired of being dissapointed by these games. Doesn’t help that a bunch of actually good looking and quality looking games are coming out around the same time.

Can’t believe how much worse this game looks the more they show of it. I was totally on board with the initial reveal trailer. The starters are some of the cutest yet. I like things like the auto battle that gives your Pokemon something to do while they follow along after you. I’m not a fan of the ride lizards but chalk that up to opinions.
Idk I really don’t think the graphics and performance issues are excusable, objectively speaking. There are plenty of games on the Switch that look fantastic. That windmill jittering along at four or five frames per second in the distance, come *on.* The rest of the industry figured out you can at least animate a jpeg for distant objects past a certain draw distance, a little sleight of hand if you will. Gamefreak is not a good dev.

It doesnt look perfect but I’m gonna play it and have myself a good time like always. And then ill spend a while shiny hunting my favorites, after completing the dex.

the best part of this generation is the pokémon designs, they made some really great new pokémon….but GOD is this game ugly as hell. Just stop pumping out games every year (or at least rotate developers like CoD does)
blows my mind that the most profitable IP in the world can make games that look so hideous

Graphically almost every Switch Pokémon game has looked bad. Let’s Go honestly looked the best. Doesn’t have to be hyper realistic, but if the textures are such low resolution, just do a purely cell shaded art style or something.
TyFogtheratrix
Looks bad.

As someone who doesn’t care too much for graphics or whatever, I’m really looking forward to this! Looks like a blast to play!
