In a recent video from Design Doc, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=me_tT6SKyjo, he commented on the lack of deep characterization/character motivation for essentially all the villains/villainous figures in the game. Given that this was an on-rails shooter that came out in 1997, this comment came across as a little nitpicky imo. To me, he made it seem like the game would’ve been better if the development team hadn’t attempted to incorporate any story or characterization to the game. Even if they seem a bit simple by current standards, I appreciate the development team for putting in the effort.

I felt the same way about Pac Man. I just couldn’t get past the weak story to enjoy the game. Blinky really fell flat, no character development at all.
Andross is evil and he made Star Wolf evil, what other motivation do you need
