Here’s an excerpt of a review from Lewis Baglow that sums up the game well:
>Much like Friday the 13th and Dead by Daylight, Obakeidoro! plays on the fears of hiding from a monster, as he seeks you out in order to imprison you within a small cage. However, the characters, settings and general gameplay of this title is presented in a more child-friendly way, with story-book like foes and locales that plays a closer game of hide and seek than its older contemporaries. The game caters for up to four players, both in single and multiplayer modes, with three players being children who try and hide and one player being the monster who wants to capture them. In its single-player capacity, all remaining players are made up of AI counterparts; something that is also incorporated into the multiplayer element should the lobbies not be filled with enough players.
I think I am gonna pass on this, hopefully Nintendo offers better games
This is a really fun game and there’s a special event that starts on the 29th that has a bunch of unlockables that adds humans, lanterns, and monsters to the roster.
Great hidden gem. Perfect for the season.
Tried it for a bit. Love the graphic style, and the artistic direction is very nice. The character’s expressions & all that are great. Still feel like it’s a bit too barren, the gameplay is very simplified and doesn’t allow for anything outside of what the tutorial gives you. I might still hop on for a few games but unfortunately after 5 games it’s like you’ve already done everything. Maybe bigger lobbies, or other game modes, or other attacks for the monster / other way to defend yourself as the character could be good.
Please offer shit people have actually heard of.
It’s a fun little game, though it hangs on the results screen a bit too long for my tastes.
Don’t forget the free Castlevania DLC that’ll add some characters.
So this game has stayed active for multiple years after release. It’s big in japan and still gets new content updates. The online net code is pretty good so even pairing up a Japanese players it’s not bad. You will always find a game.
I just played it for a little bit and instantly fell in love.

Incredibly hard for the humans to win
Ooh, this has been on my wishlist for a while now, but I was hesitant to buy into it since it seemed like a niche game, and not sure if it’s my style of game either. Glad to be able to try it out and see for myself!
I played a few games and I wonder if I am missing something? Is the ghost faster than you AND get to go through walls? Besides the lantern, how do you escape if you are seen?!?!
Played it twice as the ghost and got S+ humans on the other team. Not worth investing time in if they’re going to give me impossible matches for my first games.
I never played it, but it felt like Dead by Daylight, with less gore
Fun game! I’ll save up to buy it physically.
