>Meet Marian, one of the new playable characters in 2D beat-’em-up River City Girls 2 from WayForward! Armed with hard-hitting grapples, brutal boxing techniques, and abs of steel, this former damsel in distress from the Double Dragon series is ready to team up with Misako and Kyoko to put the hurt on anyone who gets in their way! River City Girls 2 is coming soon to Nintendo Switch!
Think I’m having one of those awakenings I’ve heard about

Just wondering about this game and it’s prequel, is the combat on the same level of complexity as something like Bayonetta? I’ve like the idea of retro styled beat ‘em ups but I’ve always wanted one that has a similar level of complexity to DMC or a fighting game, which I haven’t been able to find on consoles

Isn’t the background music from Double Dragon? Or is this game from the same universe?

Writhing
Can someone shill me on this game?
I’ve been playing Streets of Rage 4 pretty extensively including the expansion modes and can really appreciate the complexity of the combat system. Shredder’s Revenge, on the other hand, was great nostalgia, but just a button mash fest. How does River City Girls fit in the beat em up genre compared to these two? Am I going to end up with a complex game that I can play for a while or will it be a one and done like TMNT.

I want to play pretty much every character in this game. I just hope they do something about the grind. As good as the game was the first time around, having to grind out levels and money on alternate characters in the first RCG really fucking sucked.
Serafita
Hoping she has some double dragon moves like hyper knee with the nes sound effect thrown in haha
