I would say that since the anime's pulling together the 8 strongest powerhouses of the pokemon verse, it's time to at least watch the current arc
if the pacing and writing weren't so baaaaaad/inconsistent. There are just some high highs and low lows, and the budget limitations are pretty clear, which is a huge shame since this is THE most epic thing to happen in the anime. Like, how do you top a tournament with the 8 strongest trainers? How?
thankfully, the final episode was a BANGER; probably the best pokemon episode in history
It’s a shame Leon doesn’t actually use an Aegislash in his anime battles. But I’m glad we at least get to see the referee use one in a cool way. Aegislash is just a legit Pokémon, definitely one of my favorites from Kalos. Also, whole-heartedly agree that XYZ was amazing animation wise, and the story is chef’s kiss. Love thinking that because you’re Leon’s voice actor, that Leon canonically loves Kalos, and deep down inside knows that Ash deserved to win that final against Alain.
