    >The Oregon Trail is available now on Nintendo Switch.

    >A modern twist on the trials and tribulations of the road to Oregon, this official successor to the global phenomenon will immerse players in exhilarating journeys ranging from the historically accurate to the totally extreme. Players will pick their traveling party, stock the wagon with supplies, and embark on an adventure filled with tough choices, new dangers, and unexpected situations.

    Honestly excited for this.
    So are my kids.
We play the card game quite a bit.
And of course, I played the original game on an apple computer in computer class back in the 80s.

  3. TheSalmonRoll

If this game wasn’t $30 for a mobile port I would’ve been so eager to get it. Now I’m not sure anymore.

  4. QuothTheRaven713

Wasn’t expecting to see a Switch remake of my favorite 90’s computer class game, but hey, I’m not complaining!

  5. NetherPortals

Leaving organ trails and catching dysentery

  6. doubleshotofespresso

played this on Apple Arcade. was wary due to it being Gameloft and shit, expected ads and micro transactions everywhere but it was actually pretty decent

  7. I wish it was just a remake of Oregon trail 2, that game was so awesome.

  8. LiveLaughLie

I thought the end of trailer would say, “You have died of dysentery.”

  9. negative_four

Hot take: was this game really good or was it just better than computer lab homework? Let’s be honest this may not be as good as we remember

  10. LiterallyATalkingDog

$30? THIRTY DOLLARS? Are they all delusional from a dysentery fever?

  11. AJfriedRICE

FYI I think this is also on mobile and included in Apple Arcade

  12. Will be on sale for $1.99 after a few months, you can also emulate the original for free

  13. Unlikely-Distance-92

$30 dollars?! That’s like almost the same price as Nier:Automata which makes no sense

  14. polloloco81

Honestly this looks like junk. The art direction is all over the place.

  15. DreadnaughtHamster

It’s on Apple Arcade if you want to try it. $5/mo I think

  16. augustocdias

I just ask: why the different art styles???

  17. ShibaXVIII

Just get Death Road to Canada. Same general game structure, but with actual gameplay, great writing and humour, and it’s half the price.

  18. Xikkiwikk

I have the original Oregon Trail Deluxe saved to a usb drive. Its literally the classic game I played on Macintosh. It was free on abandonware.

  19. Death road to Canada is a similar game, great humor, zombies and also isn’t 30$.

  20. According-Hat-4554

I’ve seen the American dad episode Enough times to know I don’t want this

  21. acart005

    30 dollars? Lol. Lmao.

Wake me up when a 90% off deal happens.

  22. Axius-Evenstar

This game is awesome on mobile, but definitely not worth that much

  23. doctorpepper69

Can’t tell if this looks awesome or terrible

  24. saxxy_assassin

$30 is robbery for this. For a third of that price, you could get Death Road to Canada or Organ Trail, two games that do the exact same thing Oregan Trail does, but are infinitely better than this.

  25. moosebaloney

This game has been free on Apple Arcade for many months now. Absolutely ridiculous a basic port of it is being launched at $30 for Switch.

  26. consumergeekaloid

I was pretty stoked for this to come to Switch. Played some of the apple arcade version in my brief iPhone stint. But this should be like 10 dollars. 30 is absolutely insane. Imagine this will be a game that goes on 80 percent sale 4-5 times a year

  27. QuinnMallory

Damn that’s as much as a meal at Moobys

  28. Indielink

I’m on board with everyone else saying thirty is way too much for this. But also I got home last night and found my wife bundled up in bed playing it on her Switch. She does not seem to have regrets.

  29. Quirky_Eye1633

I hate this game. I grew up playing the series, I thought it was going to be good. Nope.
It’s like the longest guilt trip.

  30. petetakespictures

So apparently it’s pretty great but yeah, that pricing… eesh. I’d be happy to pay twenty dollars / sixteen quid on this one, but what they’re asking is definitely too much and is going to turn off a lot of potential buyers. I do love the setting though, and I’ve heard great things of The Oregon Trail. For me it’s a potential purchase at full price if the replay value is there. If I can get a good, solid, entertaining thirty hours out of this then yeah, I’ll get it.

  31. CokeBottleSpeakerPen

If it’s ever $10 I won’t hesitate to buy it. Maybe–kind of a big maybe–at $15. At this price I would get it only if it was an updated version of the second game, which had a lot more to do and a lot more replay value. But they’d have to keep the laughably bad acting.

  32. FoForever

It is a great game (I played through Apple Arcade). I’ll get this for my Switch when it goes on sale. Not sure why they thought $30 was a good price.

  33. Capable-Rise-7389

Playing it with my kids right now. Really fun so far! Came here looking for some actual reviews…everyone can already see the price 😆
