Availability is already at a waiting list.

When this was first announced I was disappointed there wasn’t a physical release. Now I’m disappointed I can’t get the physical release. Why would they do it this way? Something like this is like a slap in the face to those who actually want to play it and buy it physically. Why make it so limited? That’s just a scalper’s dream, not a player’s opportunity.

I’m laying in bed exhausted wondering if the ps4 version will be sold out by the time I wake up or if I should force myself over to the computer right now …

EDIT: I almost forgot the square Enix store site has an atrocious shipping policy. Completely laughable. Especially when redeeming “rewards.” Can’t even combine shipping with store items.

EDIT 2: Was so tired I fell asleep with the PS4 version in my cart and after suddenly waking up a mere two hours later (sleeping is hard…), my cart is empty because the item is gone. Laughable tbh. They shadow dropped this at 1am Eastern and it didn’t even last till morning. Like I said this shameless money-grabbing scheme will only benefit the scalpers. By the time this thing hits eBay the collectors edition will prob look reasonably priced

As a physical collector, there was no way in hell that I was dropping $74.99 plus shipping *plus* taxes for a game. That’s just a downright dirty marketing strategy.

  6. Crossbar-Hero

This is a mobile game port that they want 75 for physical edition. Fuck Square

  7. fvig2001

Hope this does well that ff13 bundle is next

  8. The price is absolutely abhorrent. SE are just taking advantage of consumers now by selling premium limited edition cardboard. That company needs shutting down.

  9. acart005

Do you want people to pirate your games?

Because this is how you get people to pirate your games.

  10. I think at this point I’ll only accept an HD2D remake of VI. It deserves the treatment.

  11. Bad_Decision_Rob_Low

Yeh no chance I’m buying this physical, and I’m a physical cart only kinda guy. $100 for cardboard and a cart containing 30 year old games? Wtf SE!

  12. kgbkgb1967

The anniversary edition is still available for only $259.99 + shipping and taxes, what a steal! /s

  13. loligatorific

lmao. tis a money grab. i would have paid $60, i love these games. gonna wait for that 50% off eshop deal now.

  14. CodyNorthrup

I cant justify spending the $75 for a few 30 year old games. I LOVE FF and have beaten all but X-2, but this just seems like a bit too much. $50 sounds more fair imo, but its on a wait list now so what do I know

  15. dpforest

So are these just the newest versions combined? How much remastering are we talking about here

  16. RegisPhone

i’m not paying $100 for this when they can’t even be arsed to fix the font

  17. Mild-Ghost

Do they charge your card for the preorder immediately? Or when it ships?

  18. bluedestiny88

I bought these games as they came out on Steam and they came out to be higher than $60 altogether, but I never thought Squeenix would end up using the same pricing tactic anyway in a physical cart lmao

  19. real-dreamer

Hold up. Is the music that plays during the game not the original Nobou Uematsu? Further, what else has changed?

  20. HammerKirby

Why can’t it just get a standard $60 release? Square Enix is even greedier with old releases than Nintendo is lmao

  21. R4nD0m57

Yeah I’ll wait 5 years for a sale
My backlog is too big too blow 75 on this. Yikes

  22. Navastro

Why are people so mad about the price? It’s just 12,5$ per game. I bet they would have no problems buying them all separately. Heck those games are 12$+ on Steam right now.

  23. I don’t understand why they still haven’t included the extra content. To me, there’s no reason to play these versions when the GBA games have similar graphics and music but with all the best endgame bits.

  24. Smooga22

My excitement turned to ashes in my mouth immediately. I’d happily pay half of what they’re asking for.

  25. eatdogs49

I hope Playasia will get copies with English text.

  26. TotallyGoodFuude

$75 for some roms with sprites that look different? This is a full blown scam!

  27. blukirbi

Let’s play a game called “Did anyone even look up how much the bundle costs on Steam?” (the shipping is ridiculous tho)
