Pokemon Go

TIL Niantic doesn’t count 1:14 PM as “daytime” if you’re above the arctic circle (we have 24 hours darkness a day, since the sun doesn’t rise above the horizon)

  1. Yeah, day/night is based on sunrise/sunset times in your location. Unfortunately can leave you in a bind at the far north latitudes.

Don’t worry, you’ll have 24 hours of daylight to evolve it in the summer

  3. Appreciate the commitment to authenticity I guess?

Found out the same on vacation in Alaska last week.

  5. And yet there’s snow and ice types everywhere down here in the southern hemisphere where my local temp is 35°C+

  6. “Move to another part of the globe to evolve.”

  7. i heard there’s a workaround by turning off gps access to the game? not sure if it would work for you but you should definitely try it

Wait until you try and evolve from Mars. Then we gonna have problems

  9. Yup.

You can turn off location and close/reopen your game to get around 6am/6pm day/night split.

It can be bad, but in one way this means how your real world conditions are affecting the game. Its the premise after all.

Having no hour for it must suck and I’m sorry for that. How long does this last?
