There was a time where I went to an inn far from the city and the defender there was a shiny Venusaur who was there for 3+ months lol. I did that trainer a favor and took it out and replaced it with a wild pkmn that spawned there and I didn’t care about. Named it after the inn before I did. About 2 months later they came back home 🙂 TL:DR, replace with any wild pkmn in the area

I would put in something useless on its own but that I wanted candy for. A bad noibat that I’ll never evolve for example. Unless they’ve changed this feature, when you feed berries to a Pokémon in a gym, there’s always a small random chance you’ll get a candy.

Better prepare your Bidoof for a long sit!

A shiny to flex or just dump another axew again

Whichever Pokémon you have that deserves a holiday the most!

Shouldn’t you put in an ice type and then it’ll be happy on the ski trail?

Put in something in there that you dont need back, but you will happily feed berries to to get extra candy.

My luck, I would take the gym and immediately get knocked out.

Niantic should give this man a special gift for defending this gym for more than a year

I need to know how this ends. OP, don’t leave us hanging once you decide.

The perfect pokemon to leave in a long-term gym from both a power-gaming and lore perspective.

Can’t be used in trainer battles, useless in raids, low CP with an insane defense rating.

Lore perspective it’s a corpse, it’s barely conscious (if at all really); whereas leaving any other pokemon would be the equivalent of torturing them with an endless solitary confinement, Shedinja doesn’t care, cause it’s just a dead bug.

Pokémon Go needs an opinion of releasing mons from a gym after a certain amount of time. Just send a notification to the player with the option to release it or just have it automatically released after a lengthy enough period of time

Galarian Mr. Mime so whoever views that gym will see him kicking his feet! 🤣🤣🤣
