My advice would be to take your time. Enjoy the process. Don’t rush to complete your island just because everyone else has a complete island. You can always find someone to trade goods with so there is no pressure to complete anything within a certain timeframe. This is the one regret most people have. They didn’t take the time to just enjoy the game because they saw how incredible the island could be and was in a hurry to get it there.

Get a good app to track things like seasons for fish, bugs, etc. saved me a lot of time.

Enjoy it & take your time, also if you have a pc or steam deck I recommend a game called DinKum

Just a game you can play to relax. After a while for me it got repetitive but itβs enjoyable

Don’t stress over the map choice. The only things that you can’t change later on are the mouths of rivers, the color of your airport, and the placement of that and the town center.
I rerolled so many times trying to get the ‘perfect’ island, so by the time I fully started, I burned out.

Like what others said, take your time. Youβre kinda forced to in the beginning, but once the island starts developing, people start trying to rush too much (myself included

Spend your Bells and Nook Miles wisely, and always check the beach and villagers’ homes for new DIYs.
