I need some input / feedback about something: did the save transfer actually work?

    Let me explain:

    * I once rented GX for Gamecube, so I had a save file on a memory card.
    * I found an AX cabinet at a local arcade, so I went there with my card, which could be plugged, and it was recognized.
    * IIRC, since AX used time limits and checkpoints, you could unlock AX content as follow:
    * If you completed a race as an AX racer (no timeout), that racer would be unlocked.
    * If you won 1st place in an AX track, that track would be unlocked.
    * During my playthrough, I ***completed*** races with all 10 AX racers and even managed to win one track ***in first place*** with one of them.
    * A few months later, I bought a copy of GX, so I went to see if any of the AX stuf was there.
    * It turned out that NOTHING was unlocked O_O
    * I ended up unlocking everything again by beating Master Cups and story chapters on Very Hard difficulty. It’s a great feeling, not I’m not doing this again XD

So… was the AX cabinet supposed to be “unlocked” to plug memory cards? Was it a feature exclusive in some places? or did I get the unlocking conditions wrong ^^; ?

This isn’t as crazy as the title sounds. Sega (Amusement Vision) also developed GX on the GameCube alongside AX.

Namco developed two Mario Karts for arcades as well, and even has Pac-Man and other Namco characters as playable drivers.
